HbbTV Membership Benefits
There are many benefits associated with being a member of the HbbTV consortium. By participating in the development and implementation of the HbbTV Standard, Members are able to help shape the future of HbbTV.
By sharing knowledge and market experience HbbTV Members work together to ensure specifications continue to meet market requirements while supporting innovation for the delivery of future TV services. With widespread recognition across the industry and ever increasing support from the leading players, HbbTV membership delivers prestige by association and results in networking opportunities for those involved.
HbbTV has a number of different Working Groups that contribute to the development of the HbbTV consortium. Members are encouraged to join, follow and contribute to these.

Contribute to the HbbTV Working Groups
The activities of the HbbTV Consortium are spread across a number of working groups, each with a different area of focus and specialisation. Each group utilises physical meetings, conference calls, mailing lists, document repository and issue repository as basic tools for coordinating and conducting their activities. Each of the working groups has an experienced chairperson, reporting directly to the Steering Group.
The Technical Specification Working Group is charged with creating the actual HbbTV specifications and supporting errata. Participants in the Technical Specification Working Group are able to influence and contribute to future specifications, including applying their expertise to help steer “win-win” outcomes for all HbbTV participants. As a member of the Technical Specification Working Group, you benefit from early sight of the work and progress of this group.
The Testing Working Group is responsible for defining and implementing the testing framework and test suite that measures HbbTV conformance. As with the Technical Specification Working Group, being a Member provides you with early sight of the work and progress of this group.
Members involved in the Certification Working Group help define the operation of the certification process. This group owns the rules and procedures for certification using the test suite.
HbbTV Members are also invited to contribute to the Marketing Working Group which promotes the HbbTV standard and encourages market adoption.  As part of this activity the HbbTV Consortium regularly participates in industry conferences. HbbTV Members are invited to contribute to the marketing and promotion at events and tradeshows, presenting opportunities to increase market awareness for both your company and HbbTV.
